Rosalva Fierro ID’d as 49-Year-Old Woman Killed in Bixby Knolls Car Accident at Del Amo Boulevard and Orange Avenue
Long Beach, California (June 9, 2019) – The woman who was killed on Friday night in a two-vehicle crash in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach has been identified as Rosalva Fierro, 49, of Long Beach, according to the authorities.
The tragic accident happened at around 10:25 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Orange Avenue.
Authorities said a 2018 Nissan truck driven by a 20-year-old Long Beach man, was traveling eastbound on Del Amo Boulevard when he sped up to beat the light at Orange Avenue but ended broadsiding a 2003 GMC SUV that entered the intersection heading north on Orange Avenue.

Fuerro, who was identified as the driver of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three men and two boys, who were the occupants of the truck, were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
All the parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. According to the police, both drivers had valid driver’s licenses.
It was unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
