Ronnie Rodriguez Dies, Raul Morales Arrested after Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Brawley Avenue
Fresno, California (January 30, 2020) – 53-year-old Ronnie Rodriguez has been identified as the man in a wheelchair killed after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Friday evening last week, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at around 6:15 p.m. Friday, January 24, on Brawley Avenue, south of West Weldon Avenue.
As per the report, Rodriguez was in a wheelchair on the edge of the northbound lanes when he was struck by a white extended cab Chevrolet pickup truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed.
38-year-old Raul Morales, the truck driver, fled the scene after the accident.
Hit-and-Run Driver, Raul Morales, Arrested
Rodriguez was declared dead at the crash site.
Police located Morales and his truck in the 2000 block of North Hanover Avenue.
He was arrested on Tuesday and is facing charges of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
An investigation is ongoing.
