Man His 60s Killed in Rohnert Park Train Accident on Golf Course Drive near Commerce Boulevard
Rohnert Park, California (June 28, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a train Friday morning in Rohnert Park, authorities said.
The tragic accident happened at about 7:00 a.m. on Golf Course Drive near Commerce Boulevard.
According to the authorities, a man in his 60s was riding his bicycle westbound on a sidewalk on Golf Course Drive toward Commerce Boulevard when he was hit by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train that was heading southbound.
Authorities said the bells, flashing lights and crossing arm of the warning system were operating at the track crossing and the train horn was sounding when the accident occurred.

The man, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details were immediately provided.
