San Jose, California (February 26, 2021) – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the elderly driver who died last week on Monday following a traffic accident in San Jose as Roeung Ke, 80, of San Jose.
The deadly accident happened at around 10:07 a.m. Monday, February 15, on Story Road near Via Ferrari and just west of Highway 101.
Authorities said Ke was driving a 1991 Honda Accord eastbound on Story Road when he suffered a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle.
Ke’s vehicle reportedly collided with a westbound 2007 Honda Accord that was making a left turn onto Via Ferrari.
Deadly Car Accident on Story Road in San Jose
Ke was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. On Friday, February 19, his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
A woman and a 16-year-old girl, who were the occupants of the Honda, were transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
