Robert Vogler Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 20 in Lake County
Robert Vogler ID’d as 1 of 2 Hospitalized after Lake County Car Crash on Highway 20 near Walker Ridge Road
Lake County, California (August 18, 2020) – Robert Vogler, 48, of Kennewick, Washington, has been identified as one of the two victims who were seriously injured in a head-on crash on Friday afternoon in Lake County, east of Clearlake Oaks.
At about 1: 45 p.m., on August 14, the California Highway Patrol responded to the major injury crash on Highway 20 west of Walker Ridge Road.
According to the CHP, a 2014 Chevrolet Volt, driven by Stephen Collins, 20, of St. Helena, was traveling eastbound in the No. 1 lane when it crossed the solid double yellow lines into the westbound lanes.
Unfortunately, the Chevrolet Volt collided head-on with an oncoming 2006 Chevrolet 2500 van, operated by Vogler, the officials said.
As a result of the collision, Vogler’s Chevrolet overturned.

Both Vogler and Collins were flown to local hospitals with serious injuries.
Following the accident, all lanes of Highway 20 were blocked for approximately two hours.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
