Robert Rodgers Killed, Travis Chamberlain Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Claribel Road and Langworth Road in Salida

Salida, California (February 15, 2019) – One person was killed and another one seriously injured in a car accident on Wednesday evening in Salida, police said.

The incident took place at about 7:00 p.m. February 13, on Claribel Road east of Langworth Road.

According to the authorities, 56-year-old Larry D. Boyd, the driver a 1983 Chevrolet Silverado, crashed into a 2016 Ford F-150 which was disabled and pulled to the side of the road with the hazard lights on.

Boyd did not notice the Ford and struck it. The Chevrolet then continued moving west on Claribel Road and shortly after crashed into a ditch.

64-year-old Robert Dale Rodgers, a passenger in Boyd’s car, was rushed to Memorial Medical Center where he later died.

Travis Chamberlain, 23, the driver of the Ford, suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Boyd was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter..

The crash remains under investigation.
