Saratoga, California (January 22, 2020) – 31-year-old Robert Caldwell of Santa Clara has been identified as the male victim who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Saratoga late on Saturday afternoon.
The motorcycle crash happened on Highway 9 near the intersection of Heather Heights Road at around 4:13 p.m. January 18.
The accident involved a Honda sedan and a motorcycle ridden by Caldwell northbound on Highway 9.
The primary report indicated that Caldwell crossed over the centre median on a sharp curve and slammed into the southbound Honda sedan.
The motorcycle also crashed with a pickup truck that was travelling behind the sedan. Officials said Caldwell was ejected from his motorbike and was run over by the rear wheels of the truck upon the impact.

Caldwell was declared dead by emergency crews at the site of the accident.
The wreck resulted in the closure of a portion of the highway for about three hours.
Meanwhile, the cause of the accident remains under an active investigation.
