Richard Gonzalez Sought after Atascadero Crash on Highway 101 near Traffic Way
Atascadero, California (April 4, 2019) – 39-year-old Richard Lawrence Gonzalez has been identified as the suspect involved in an alleged hit-and-run accident in Atascadero Wednesday morning.
The two-vehicle accident, which happened just before 9:00 a.m. April 3, occurred along Highway 101.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a Toyota Tacoma traveling north on Highway 101 was struck on the right side by a Ford F-150. The report indicated that the Ford was making an unsafe lane change when the crash occurred. Due to the impact, the Tacoma ended up slamming into a large oak tree after crashing through a fence.

The Tacoma driver, whose identity was not revealed, sustained moderate injuries following the accident. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the F-150 fled the scene on foot after the incident. The suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Richard Lawrence Gonzalez from Creston, based on the details on the documents he left in his car.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still looking for the suspect.
