Cottonwood, California (March 19, 2021) – Rex Tinnin, 78, of Cottonwood, has been identified as one of the several parties who were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday morning in Cottonwood, authorities said.

The accident occurred at about 10:15 a.m., on March 18, on Lake California Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Michael Webb, 42, of Cottonwood, was driving westbound on Lake California Drive in a 2012 Dodge Ram with three passengers when it collided with a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The GMC, driven by Tinnin, 78, was headed east on Lake California Drive at the time of the collision.

Webb sustained lacerations to his head’s right side and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.

A woman in his truck sustained injuries and was flown to Mercy Medical Center. An 11-year-old may have had major injuries and had to be taken to Mercy Medical Center, while a 3-year-old passenger was transported for possible injuries.

Tinnin was hurt and but was not hospitalized.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
