Regina Avila ID’d as 48-Year-Old Woman Killed in Bermuda Dunes Pedestrian Crash at Washington Street and Hidden River Road

Bermuda Dunes, California (January 8, 2021) – Regina Avila, 48, of Palm Desert, has been identified as the woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Thursday evening in Bermuda Dunes, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 5:25 p.m., on January 7, at the intersection of Washington Street and Hidden River Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Avila was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
First responders reportedly arrived at the scene and found Avila on the roadway.

Sadly, Avila was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for several hours due to the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
