Redlands, California (May 5, 2021) – One person was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle collision that took place Tuesday afternoon in Redlands, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision occurred at about 1:21 p.m. on eastbound 10 Freeway near Ford Street off-ramp.

As per the report, for unknown reasons, a pickup truck slammed into the back of a semi-truck.

The driver of the pickup was trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and helped free the trapped party.

The report said at least one person suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was sent to the scene to take the patient to the hospital.

CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
