Redding, California (January 27, 2021) – Authorities have identified the Redding female motorcyclist who was hurt following a traffic collision at an intersection in Redding Monday evening as 40-year-old Holly Newman.

The motorcycle crash took place at Court and Tehama streets on January 25

The accident happened when a 2013 Honda CRV driven by 72-year-old Faith Blatchford, southbound along the highway, made a left turn onto Tehama Street directly into the path of a 2007 Suzuki GSX motorcycle operated by Newman north on Court Street. 

Newman then crashed with the passenger’s side of the Honda, and her helmet fell off.

Newman was hospitalized at Mercy Medical Center for treatment of injuries to her left arm, left leg, and head.

Details regarding Blatchford were not immediately established at the time of the report.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
