Redding, California (January 30, 2020) – A man was arrested following a suspected DUI crash that left a woman dead on Wednesday, January 29, in Redding.

The fatal collision happened on Highway 299 near Whiskeytown scales, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Hawk Blaze Bergstrom, 42, of Redding was driving a Toyota pickup truck westbound on the highway when he collided head-on with a Chevy pickup truck.

The female driver of the Chevy was transported by helicopter but she died on the way.

Bergstrom was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
