Redding, California (May 8, 2019) – A firefighter was among two people injured in a fire incident in east Redding on Tuesday morning, according to the Redding Fire Department.

The incident was reported at about 8:30 a.m. May 7, in the 2300 block of Alden Avenue.

The report showed that a fire broke out at a house in the area and it may have been caused by a faulty electrical outlet.

One person was inside the house at the time. Firefighters responded and one of them tried to break down the door to get in. The firefighter was knocked down by the hot blast of smoke and air.

The firefighter and the person inside the house were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries caused by smoke inhalation.

There was significant damage to the house as half of it was engulfed in flames.

The authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
