Raymond Celaya Arrested after Deadly Fresno Pedestrian Crash on Friant and Fort Washington Road

Fresno, California (June 18, 2021) – Police arrested Raymond Celaya in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left a 10-year-old boy dead in northeast Fresno late Thursday night, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. June 17, in the area of Friant and Fort Washington Road.
A family was strolling in the area when a 10-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the crash and performed CPR on the victim, identified as Angel Hernandez, 10, of Fresno.
Hernandez was then transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The involved motorist fled from the scene after the accident. On Friday morning, authorities received a tip that the suspect vehicle, a black Chrysler, was spotted on Emerson Avenue in northeast Fresno.
Celaya, who was the owner of the vehicle, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of manslaughter and hit and run.
The incident is under investigation.
