Rancho Cucamonga, CA: Pedestrian Hurt, 2 Dogs Dies After Being Struck by Suspected DUI Driver on Archibald Avenue

Rancho Cucamonga, California (December 2, 2020) – 23-year-old Mouaffak Alami, of Rancho Cucamonga, has been arrested following an alleged DUI pedestrian accident Saturday afternoon in Rancho Cucamonga.

Police said the collision took place in the 7100 block of Archibald Avenue, near the P.E. Trail, just after 2:15 p.m. November 28.

As per the dispatch, a speeding car struck a male party who was walking with his family and two dogs on the street in a marked crosswalk.

The car operator, Alami, veered off and crashed into a tree upon the impact.

23-Year-Old Mouaffak Alami Arrested Following Rancho Cucamonga DUI Accident

The two dogs died at the crash site while the pedestrian was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

Paramedics also rushed Alami to an area hospital for treatment. He was later booked at the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of DUI, where his bail was set at $100,000.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
