Rael Verduzco, Erika Tineo-Verduczo ID’d as 2 People Killed in Stanislaus County Truck Accident on Interstate 5

Stanislaus County, California (March 10, 2021) – The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified Rael Verduzco, 30, and her daughter Erika Tineo-Verduczo, as the two people who were killed in a Wednesday afternoon truck accident in Stanislaus County.
The deadly accident occurred at about 1:00 p.m., on March 3, on Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a box truck, driven by Catarino Torres Jr., 27 of Modesto, crashed into the back of a Toyota sedan, operated by Daniel Vega, 25, on the roadway.
The Toyota had slowed down and was pulling over due to a flat tire when the truck rear-ended it, the officials said.

Sadly, Rael Verduzco and her child Erika Tineo-Verduczo were pronounced dead at the scene. They were passengers in the Toyota.
Vega and a 4-year-old passenger, also in the Toyota, were injured in the accident and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
