Poway, California (March 3, 2021)– A pedestrian died after being struck by a big rig Wednesday morning in Poway, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened just after 9:30 a.m. near a Michaels store in the 13300 block of Poway Road.
According to the authorities, the woman was struck by a tractor-trailer that was traveling northbound on a delivery access road.
The big rig dragged the woman approximately 50 feet before running her over.
The woman was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
