Teen Killed, 2 Others Hospitalized after Port Hueneme Accident on Ventura Road
Port Hueneme, California (April 22, 2021) – Police have arrested 28-year-old Samuel Rocha, of Port Hueneme, following an alleged hit-and-run fatal accident that happened Monday night in Port Hueneme.
The fatal bicycle crash took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Ventura Road.
As per the report, a vehicle operated by Rocha struck seven male juveniles who were riding their bicycles northbound on the highway approaching Pleasant Valley Road.
Fatal Port Hueneme Bicycle Accident
Three of the seven cyclists were hospitalized after the collision.
Sadly, one of the patients was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment for major injuries.
Another patient was treated for critical injuries, while the third party sustained significant injuries to his lower body.
Meanwhile, Samuel fled the scene on foot without rendering aid to the victims.
He later turned himself into authorities and was arrested for murder and attempted murder.
It was not established whether intoxication played a role in the wreck.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
