Seal Beach Officer Injured, Kenneth Lopez Arrested after Seal Beach Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Coast Highway

Seal Beach, California (October 11, 2020) – A Seal Beach police officer was struck and injured by a vehicle on Saturday afternoon in Seal Beach, authorities said.
The pedestrian accident transpired at about 3:15 p.m., on October 10, on Pacific Coast Highway near Mariner Drive.
According to the police, the Seal Beach police officer was conducting a traffic stop and was standing near his parked patrol car when an unrelated southbound Ford F-150 rear-ended the patrol car knocking the officer down.
Following the collision, the Ford, driven by Kenneth Jacob Lopez, 30, of Huntington Beach, lost control and crashed into a nearby wall.

The police sustained moderate injuries in the accident.
Lopez, who fled the scene on foot, was later arrested for suspicion of felony hit-and-run and DUI.
