At Least 1 Injured in Pleasanton Big Rig Crash on 580 Freeway near 680 Freeway

Pleasanton, California (August 7, 2020) – At least one person was severely injured in a big rig collision that happened Friday morning on 580 Freeway in Pleasanton, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened at about 5:19 a.m. just east of 680 Freeway.
As per the CHP report, a big rig collided with two cars for unknown reasons. The big rig spilled oil and gas in two right lanes, and Caltrans was required to respond with a sweeper to clean the roadway.
At least one person sustained severe injuries in the accident. Paramedics responded to the scene to help the victim.
The pileup left several lanes of the freeway closed to allow the scene to be cleaned.
CHP is investigating the accident.
