Placer County, California (March 20, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Friday morning head-on collision that killed a 59-year-old woman in Placer County.

The deadly accident occurred at about 6:05 a.m., on March 19, on Placer Hills Road, north of Pinewood Way.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Subaru, driven by Parker J. Sullivan, of Meadow Vista, was headed northbound Placer Hills Road when it drifted partially into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford.

Following the collision, the Ford swerved off the roadway into a dirt embankment where it overturned, the officials said.

Sadly, the 59-year-old woman, who was in the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sullivan was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for about two hours due to the accident.

Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
