Camarillo, California (April 19, 2021) – The woman who died after a box truck and a minivan collided Friday morning in Camarillo has been identified by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Bureau as Pilar Pizarro, 78, of Camarillo.

At about 8:05 a.m. Friday, April 16, authorities received a report about the collision near the intersection of Adolfo Road and Mission Oaks Boulevard.

According to the authorities, the minivan collided with the box truck for unknown reasons near the Camarillo intersection, just north of the 101 Freeway.

As a result of the collision, the minivan came to rest on a curb near the traffic light.

Deadly Minivan, Box Truck Accident in Camarillo

Pizarro, who was riding as a passenger in the minivan, was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

Another occupant of the minivan and two people in the truck were also injured following the accident. Two of them were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The authorities closed the intersection while they conduct an investigation. It was not immediately clear if speed played a role in the fatal Camarillo crash.
