Gilroy, California (September 19, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a man who was injured in a fatal car accident in Gilroy on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at about 7:57 a.m. on Highway 152 near Bloomfield Avenue.
According to a local news source, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a Ford Explorer driven by 31-year-old Phillip Romero collided head-on on the roadway for unknown reasons.

One of the two male occupants of the pickup trucks was killed in the collision. The second man was transported to San Jose Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Romero, a resident of Fresno, sustained major injuries and was flown to San Jose Regional Hospital.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
