Petaluma, California (April 30, 2021) – One person was injured and another was arrested following an alleged DUI crash Thursday morning at a Petaluma intersection, according to authorities.
The collision, which involved several vehicles, happened at around 7:02 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at the intersection of East Washington Street and Lakeville Street.
The authorities said a vehicle, driven by Andrew Boyd, 23, of Petaluma, crashed into the back of another car for unknown reasons.
After the crash, Boyd opened his driver’s side door into oncoming traffic, and another car slammed into his door.
Minor Injury Crash in Petaluma
According to the authorities, a passenger in the first car that was hit from the back by Boyd sustained minor injuries.
Authorities later determined that Boyd was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. He was ultimately arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
