Peggy Kandler Dies in Fatal Bakersfield 2-Vehicle Crash on Hughes Lane near Valley Plaza Mall
Bakersfield, California (November 26, 2019) – Peggy Kandler, 50, has been identified as the woman who was killed Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Bakersfield.
The fatal crash occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, on Hughes Lane near the Valley Plaza Mall.
According to the authorities, a vehicle driven by Kandler, was trying to turn southbound onto Hughes Lane from Holden Way when, for an unknown reason, it was hit by a car driven by a 20-year-old man, who was traveling northbound on Hughes Lane.

Kandler was declared dead at the scene. It was not immediately known if the other driver sustained injuries in the crash.
It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
