Man Killed in South San Jose Pedestrian Accident at Snell Avenue and Cedargate Lane
South San Jose, California (March 8, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening while crossing the street in South San Jose, according to a police report.
At around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, the officers received a report about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Snell Avenue and Cedargate Lane.
Investigators determined that a man was walking in an uncontrolled intersection when he was struck by a 2001 Toyota SUV that was heading southbound on Snell Avenue.
The man was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
According to police, the male driver of the SUV stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
