Caltrain Fatally Hits Pedestrian near Blossom Hill Station in San Jose

San Jose, California (September 25, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Caltrain on Tuesday evening in San Jose, according to the authorities.

The crash took place at around 5:08 p.m. September 24, between the Capitol and Blossom Hill stations.

Authorities said a pedestrian was on the tracks for unknown reasons when they were hit by Train SB#156.

The victim died at the scene of the crash.

The approximately 364 passengers on board the train were unhurt in the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Many pedestrians are hurt and several others killed in accidents in California every year. The causes of many of these pedestrian accidents include distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, bad weather, wrong-way driving and failure to observe traffic laws. It is evident that negligence on the part of motorists is the leading cause of these accidents.
