Lakewood Station Deputy Seriously Injured in Paramount Pedestrian Accident near Downey Avenue and Alondra Boulevard; Suspect Arrested
Paramount, California (November 25, 2019) – A sheriff’s deputy was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Monday evening in Paramount, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about 5:50 p.m. near Downey Avenue and Alondra Boulevard.
As per the report, the Lakewood Station deputy was hit by a vehicle for an unknown reason near Downey Avenue and Alondra Boulevard.
The driver did not stop to render aid to the deputy and fled the scene.
Deputy Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident in Paramount
The deputy was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The name of the patient has not been disclosed.
Authorities later arrested a suspect near Jackson Street and Indiana Avenue. It was not immediately known if that suspect was the driver of the vehicle involved.
The accident remains under investigation.
