Driver Severely Injured in Palo Alto Crash on Highway 101 near University Avenue
Palo Alto, California (September 7, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Saturday morning in the area of Palo Alto.
The major crash was reported a while after 8:00 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 near University Avenue.
As per the CHP officials, a Ford Focus was driving slowly in the far right lane of the northbound freeway when for unknown reasons, he was rear-ended by a Land Rover for reasons still under investigation.
Major Rear-End Crash on Highway 101 in Palo Alto
Responding paramedics attended to the Focus driver identified as a man in his 20s. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.
The Land Rover driver was not hurt in the crash and reportedly stopped at the scene.
Authorities issued a SigAlert blocking the three right lanes of the northbound freeway. The lanes were expected to reopen by 9:00 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
