Oxnard Accident at East Bard Road and Davis Court Kills One Person
Oxnard, California (March 19, 2021) – A 28-year-old Oxnard man died following a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in south Oxnard, according to a report by the Ventura County Fire Department.
Officials said the fatal crash happened near the intersection of East Bard Road and Davis Court at about 2:35 p.m. on March 18.
A 2003 Nissan 350Z driven by the Oxnard man westbound along Bard Road crashed with a 2003 Ford Explorer operated by a 30-year-old Oxnard man in the same direction east of Saviers Road.
Officials said the two automobiles were moving at a high rate of speed at the collision time.
One of the vehicles caught fire upon the impact, and one person was pinned inside the wreckage.
Fatal Oxnard Car Accident Thursday Afternoon
The Nissan motorist was declared dead at the scene.
The Ford Explorer operator was hospitalized at a local hospital with minor injuries, and he was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Bard Road was closed down between Saviers Road and Justin Way as investigation and cleanup took place.
