Bicyclist Killed in Oxnard Train Crash near Fourth and Meta Streets

Oxnard, California (July 7, 2021) – A bicycle rider died following a crash involving an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train in downtown Oxnard on Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.
The accident occurred at around 11:09 p.m. July 6, near the Oxnard Transit Center at Fourth and Meta streets.
According to authorities, a 32-year-old man was riding his bike on the tracks when he was struck by the train. The train’s conductor reportedly sounded the horn multiple times but the cyclist remained on the tracks.
Bicyclist Killed in Oxnard Train Collision
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No one on the train was injured but the train was delayed for nearly three hours for the investigation.
The crash is under investigation.
