Richmond Bicycle Accident at West Ohio Avenue and Richmond Parkway Kills 56-Year-Old Oscar Castro

Richmond, California (December 8, 2020) – The Richmond bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Richmond Friday afternoon has been identified as 56-year-old Oscar Castro.
The deadly bicycle crash took place at about 12:52 p.m., December 4, near West Ohio Avenue and Richmond Parkway.
A vehicle of unspecified make and built, heading southbound on Richmond Parkway, struck Castro while riding a bicycle west on W. Ohio Avenue.
Castro reportedly failed to stop for a stoplight at the Richmond intersection prior to the collision.

Sadly, Castro died in the accident.
The involved motorist, who stopped after the wreck, was not believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
