Woman Killed in Oroville Pedestrian Accident on Highway 70 near Cox Lane
Oroville, California (December 14, 2020) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Oroville, according to a local news source.
The California Highway Patrol said the deadly accident happened at around 5:16 a.m. Saturday, December 12, on Highway 70 near Cox Lane.
According to the CHP, the woman was walking within the outside driving lane of Highway 70 when she was hit by a vehicle that was heading southbound, driven by a 33-year-old Oroville man.
The impact threw the woman into the highway’s fast lane and was struck by several other vehicles. Authorities said the pedestrian had dark clothing at the time of the accident.

The woman died in the accident. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the first car that hit the pedestrian stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. It is undetermined whether DUI played a role in the collision.
