Bicyclist Injured in Orland Crash on Canal Road near County Road 9 Wednesday afternoon
Orland, California (May 1, 2019) — A bicyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Orland, according to a local news source.
The crash was reported at around 2:18 p.m. at Canal Road and County Road 9.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was hit by a vehicle at the intersection. The vehicle then veered off the roadway and into a creek.
Major Injury Bicycle Accident in Orland Wednesday
Medical personnel responded to the scene and rendered to at least one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. The patient was then airlifted to a hospital.
The total number of people injured in the crash at this remained unknown.
As per the CHP report, a tow truck was dispatched to the scene to remove the vehicle that was 90 percent submerged in the creek.
The crash remains under investigation.
