Cloverdale, California (March 19, 2021) – Orion Torney, 44, of Upper Lake, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Wednesday morning traffic accident that left three other people injured in Cloverdale, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened at about 5:20 a.m., on March 17, on northbound Highway 101 at Highway 128.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Kia Forte with three male occupants was headed northbound on the highway when the vehicle lost control. The Forte then crashed into the concrete center median, rolled over and stopped in the middle of two northbound lanes.

Unfortunately, a Kia Optima driven by Patrick Infante of Santa Rosa was headed northbound when it collided with the Forte. A Chrysler 200, driven by Canyon Sparks of Rohnert Park, was also traveling northbound approaching the scene and collided with the Forte’s front.

Sadly, the driver of the Forte, Torney, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. The CHP believes that Torney was attempting to exit his vehicle when the collision with the Chrysler occurred.

Authorities are investigating whether Torney may have been under the influence at the time of the crash.

Two other passengers in the Forte were transported to Memorial Hospital with moderate to major injuries.

Sparks was transported to Kaiser with moderate injuries.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
