Orange County, California (February 25, 2019) – At least one person was injured when a suspected drunk motorist struck a CHP patrol car while the officer was attempting to arrest another suspected DUI driver in Orange County on Sunday morning.

The accident took place around 2:30 a.m. February 24, near Orangethorpe Avenue and State Route 57.

As per the report, the officer had just pulled over a possible DUI motorist. He was attempting to put the person in the back of the patrol car when the patrol car was struck by another car.

The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. The officer and the first driver were uninjured.

The driver who slammed into the CHP vehicle was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
