Oildale, California (March 12, 2021) – Three people were hospitalized after being involved in a traffic collision in Oildale Thursday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The minor injury crash took place at about 2:25 p.m. at Chester Avenue and Roberts Lane.

The mishap happened when a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed north on North Chester Avenue ran a red light at the Oildale intersection. The car then struck three other automobiles in the process.

Three unidentified victims were rushed to an area hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.

Chester Avenue was closed down in both directions for an unknown time.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
