Oceanside, California (July 13, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning in the area of Oceanside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, on southbound 15 Freeway, just north of  Via Rancho Road.

As per the CHP officials, two vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the victims. A party was transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of injuries of unknown degree.

The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately known.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.

Lane 1 and the HOV lane were blocked following the crash. The roadway was cleared as of 2:24 a.m.

An investigation is underway.
