Oakland, California (December 25, 2020) – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by at least two vehicles on Thursday night in Oakland, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 9:10 p.m., on December 24, on northbound Interstate 880 near Seventh Street exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white male was walking on the roadway when he entered into a Toyota Corolla pathway.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota was unable to avoid the pedestrian. At least one other vehicle struck him, the officials.

Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 880

Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers remained at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.

At around 9:26 p.m., the officers declared a Sig-alert, closing the roadway’s number 1, 2 and 3 lanes, routing Interstate 880 along the number 4 lane to eastbound Interstate 80. The Sig-alert was lifted just before 10:40 p.m.
