Oakland, California (August 4, 2020) – Six vehicles were involved in a collision Tuesday morning in Oakland, resulting in major injuries, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Authorities said the pileup occurred on the northbound 880 Freeway Transition to Westbound 80 Freeway.

The vehicles collided at about 6:40 p.m., leaving at least one person with major injuries. Paramedics responded to the scene to help the motorists.

At the time of the report, the cause and manner of the crash were not yet established.

CHP is investigating the crash.
