50-Year-Old Killed in Oakland Motorcycle Crash on Highway 24 near Highway 13 and Caldecott Tunnel
Oakland, California (July 30, 2020) – A 50-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday night in Oakland, authorities said.
At about 11:17 p.m., on July 29, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident in the eastbound lanes of Highway 24, just west of Highway 13 near the Caldecott Tunnel.
The CHP said a Yamaha motorcycle, driven by the 50-year-old man, was, for unknown reasons, pulling into traffic from the right-hand shoulder when a Honda Accord struck it.
As a result of the collision, the rider was thrown on to the roadway, the officials said.

The 50-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
Traffic on the highway was stopped for about 45 minutes due to the mishap.
