Two Children Killed in Oakland Car Crash on Interstate 580 near Lakeshore Avenue
Oakland, California (May 8, 2020) – A multi-vehicle collision left two children dead on Thursday morning in Oakland, according to the CHP.
The wreck happened just before 11:30 a.m. May 7, on Interstate 580 just east of Lakeshore Avenue.
According to the report, a white Honda Accord lost control and slammed into the rear of a white Ford F-250 that was parked in the center divide.
Two Caltrans employees were outside the Ford doing maintenance work.
The Honda was then hit by a white Toyota Sienna minivan.

Two children riding in the Honda were both killed in the crash. A third child was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The woman who was driving the Honda was hospitalized with major injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
