Gordon Gaines Hit and Killed by Vehicle at Church of Nazarene on West F Street in Oakdale
Oakdale, California (September 28, 2020) – Authorities have released the name of the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday morning in Oakdale.
At about 10:18 a.m., on September 27, officials received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a Chevrolet Silverado that was making a U-turn at the Church of Nazarene on West F Street parking lot.
The Chevrolet Silverado driver, 71-year-old Linda Smith, reportedly accelerated and struck a metal support pole before hitting 69-year-old Gordon Gaines.
Officials said the Silverado came to a rest after slamming into the west side of the church building.

Gaines died in the wreck.
Smith, an Oakdale resident, was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
