Novato, California (December 17, 2020) – A man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon in Novato, authorities said.

The minor injury accident transpired at about 2:34 p.m. on Highway 37.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Tundra pickup truck, driven by the man, veered off the roadway, flipped over and crashed into a power pole.

The fallen power line started a small grass fire along the nearby railroad tracks and was contained by the first responders, the officials said.

The man sustained minor injuries and was aided at the scene.

Power was lost in the Novato neighborhoods near Highway 37 due to the crash. Most were restored by 4:30 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
