North Highlands, California (February 16, 2020) – A total of six people were hospitalized after being involved in an alleged DUI head-on crash on Saturday evening in North Highlands.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury crash took place on February 15, in the area of Auburn Boulevard and Hemlock Street.

The accident involved an eastbound Nissan Sentra that was making a turn onto Hemlock Street and a Chevy Malibu heading westbound on Auburn Boulevard. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on at approximately 6:40 p.m.

Major Injuries Reported After Head-On Crash in North Highlands 

Five children riding in the Malibu sustained major non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. The operator of the Malibu was also confirmed to have suffered major injuries following the mishap.

All six patients were transported to area hospitals for medication.

Police arrested the Nissan motorist on suspicion DUI.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
