Norman Anpree Seriously Injured in Fatal Multi-vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway in East Los Angeles

East Los Angeles, California (March 30, 2021) – Norman Anpree, has been identified as the man who was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident that killed a deputy on Sunday morning in East Los Angeles, authorities said

The deadly accident occurred at about 5:25 a.m., on March 29, on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway at the transition road to the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway.

According to the officials, several vehicles collided at the intersection of northbound 5 and 710 freeways.

Jeffrey McKee, 35, of Norco in Riverside County, who was driving home from work at Inmate Reception Center, was involved in the multi-vehicle traffic collision. 

Sadly, McKee was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy.

Veteran Deputy Norman Anpree, who was also on his way home, was also involved in the same collision. He was seriously injured and was hospitalized for treatment.

The multi-vehicle collision was reportedly caused by a detached tire from a vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
