Yuba City, California (August 8, 2020) – 81-year-old Norberto Ocampo, of Yuba City, has been identified as the pedestrian who died following a suspected hit-and-run collision in Yuba City early Wednesday morning.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at Garden Highway and Percy Avenue shortly before 12:40 a.m. on August 5.

Ocampo was struck by an eastbound Ford Edge while crossing the Yuba City intersection for reasons still under investigation.

The initial report indicated that Ocampo was walking on South Percy Avenue while the Ford was heading eastbound on Garden Highway prior to the collision.

The Ford operator, 20-year-old Kassidy Dunn, did not stop to render aid and left Ocampo laying on the ground.

20-Year-Old Kassidy Dunn Arrested After Fatal Yuba City Hit-and-Run Crash 

Sadly, Ocampo was declared dead at the crash site by medical personnel.

Dunn, a Marysville resident, was later arrested and booked into Sutter County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run after she turned herself in to the police few hours later.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the fatal accident is underway.
