Nevada City, California (April 27, 2021) – 29-year-old Devin McCune has been identified as the Livermore man who died following a DUI rollover crash Sunday night in Nevada County.

The single-car collision took place on the 11000 block of Banner Lava Cap Road, just west of Forest View Drive, at about 9 p.m. on April 25

A 1997 Ford Explorer driven by 29-year-old Phillip Thomas Krulisky lost control, and its right front side slammed directly into a tree before rolling over into an irrigation ditch.

Due to the impact, Devin, who was in the passenger seat of the car, was pinned in the heavily wrecked Explorer and had to be rescued.

Sadly, McCune died in the accident. Officials affirmed Krulisky sustained non-serious injuries and received first aid treatment at the cars site.

Phillip Thomas, a Grass Valley resident, was arrested and booked into the Nevada County Jail on felony charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence. Meanwhile, the suspect remained in custody Monday on a bond of $100,000.

The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
