Navraj Chatha Among 2 Killed in Redding Plane Crash on Placer Street near Benton Airpark

Redding, California (September 11, 2020) – Navraj Singh Chatha, 37, of Rodeo, has been identified as one of the two victims who were killed in a Redding plane crash late last month, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident transpired at about 6:45 a.m., Thursday, August 27, in a field on Placer Street near Benton Airpark.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson, a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza plane with four persons on board crashed into a ravine after taking off from the airport.
First responders arrived at the scene and contained a half-acre vegetation fire that was by the plane crash.

Michael Barry Garrett, 59, of Redding, the pilot, and Chatha, who was the passenger, were killed in the crash.
Two other victims in the plane were hospitalized in unknown conditions.
Traffic on both directions of Placer Street at Pleasant Street and Airpark Drive due to the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
